RHS Gardens Wisley, Woking – the new glasshouse won the Heritage and Environment Award for New Building Design.
Opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the stunning pre-fabricated glasshouse was designed by architect Peter van der Toorn Vrijthoff.
The EcOman project – the “Oman Green Award” in 2012.
The glasshouse of Wisley Gardens is an interesting example to use the single temperate glass in a curved position. This can also be done also with isolated glass. A new and complicated development is the Royal Botanical Glasshouse in Kuwait. Because of the extreme temperatures in the project special type of glass was used together with other provisions for temperature control.
